HIS MODEL UNITED NATIONS

Model United Nations conferences have a long tradition at Hawar International School. We believe that shaping young leaders is one of the main objectives of modern education. It is important to bring to the school global issues and more importantly, it’s crucial to teach students how to look for solutions. MUN program had been paused for a short period of time but was prominently presented again in Hawar International School in 2017 when the first-ever High School internal HISMUN premiered at HIS.

The High School internal MUN became an annual event that was and still is very successful, it teaches HIS students many things, such as public speaking, research techniques, and collaborative working. This platform helps our students to overcome the fear of public speaking and debating and encourages them to participate at external MUN conferences around the island.  In 2018, the first internal Middle School MUN was introduced and it became part of the Social Studies activities since, pushing our Middle School students to thrive in their work and enhance their general skills. Hawar International School is also participating in HR-MUN, the first-ever joined MUN in Bahrain between Hawar International School and Riffa Views International School. The first-ever HR-MUN was in March 2019, it was overall a success. There had been over 250 participants from all over the island as delegates, runners, press, security, and chairs. HR-MUN will continue to strive with the new generation of leaders who respect and understand the MUN legacy.
