In the last academic year 2018-19 the school has implemented Cambridge curriculum for grades K – 8 for all English taught subjects. In the start of this academic year 2019-20 HIS has introduced IGCSE curriculum for Grade 9. For Arabic subjects the school follows the standards set by the Bahrain Ministry of Education.
In the KG section there is a 50/50 split between Arabic and English subjects allowing for literacy and numeracy in both languages. The KG2 follows the Ministry of Bahrain curriculum for Arabic subjects whilst for English subjects it is following the Cambridge curriculum.
Elementary students study Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, Islamic Studies, English, Maths and Science. Lessons are also taken in Art, PE and ICT.
Middle School students study Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, Islamic Studies, English, Maths, Science and Social Studies. Lessons are also taken in Art, PE and ICT.
High School students study Arabic Language, Arabic Social Studies, Islamic Studies, English, Maths, Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and Social Studies including Business Studies and Economics. Lessons are also taken in PE and ICT and in Grade 12 students are prepared for university with a Careers Education Development Program (CEDP).
