HISMUN (Hawar International School Model United Nations) is an annual academic simulation of the United Nations held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Organised by Hawar International School (HIS), it provides a platform for middle and high school students to step into the shoes of diplomats and world leaders. As of early 2026, the conference has established itself as a significant event in the Bahraini MUN circuit, recently announcing its fourth edition with a unique theme: “From Stars to Constellations: Shaping Unity Through Diversity” with a tagline: “Alone we shine, together we illuminate.”
Model United Nations conferences have a long tradition at Hawar International School. We believe that shaping young leaders is one of the main objectives of modern education. It is important to bring to the school global issues and more importantly, it’s crucial to teach students how to look for solutions.The event typically includes a grand Flag Ceremony, committee debates (such as the Security Council or General Assembly), and negotiations aimed at solving real-world international crises.The High School internal MUN became an annual event that was and still is hugely successful. Like many MUNs in the region, HISMUN focuses on developing a specific set of “soft skills”: Public Speaking, Advance planning, Democracy, Research, Diplomacy & Collaboration. HIS students have been shining in the MUN held by other schools due to the empowerment received in the internal MUN.
HIS-MUN will continue to strive with the new generation of leaders who respect and understand the MUN legacy.
